ACCREDITATION OF PRIOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

WHAT IS APEL.A?

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is a systematic process under the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) which includes identification, documentation and an assessment of past learning, as such; knowledge, skills and behaviours. The aforementioned will be assessed in order to determine the person’s knowledge, skills and behaviour are matched as the targeted learning outcomes. This will be an access to any course to be awarded with a credit.

APEL.A opens a chance to those who have the working experience but possess either an insufficient or no academic qualification to continue their education under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Generally, the APEL.A’s assessment involves past formal education as well as past working experience.
