Kursk State Medical University (KSMU) was founded in 7 February 1935 – Top 10 Russian Medical University and the 1st Russian university which offer full medical courses in English.
KSMU has trained over 30,000 medical professionals across 14 faculties and 67 departments. There are 633 academic workers with 333 Ph.D and 92 Academics of D.sc to teach 6,400 students. The university has a library that allows borrowing books and its contain more than 500,000 journals, books and releases.
On its campus, there are 4 teaching buildings and 5 comfortable student hostels. Students can also enjoy recreational facilities including 3 sports halls and shooting halls. Shooting galleries, canteens and cafeteria are also available on the main campus and hostels.
In 2013, there were 1,573 foreign students from 47 countries such as Malaysia, Nigeria, Brazil, Sri Lanka and others. KSMU graduates are in demand in various areas of healthcare, medical, business and economic sciences. The university placement office monitors employers’ views on the quality of graduates.
A) Student of Ordinary Level (or any equivalent).
KSMU provides opportunities for the student with O-level qualification or A-Level with low marks to proceed towards the Undergraduate program by enrolling onto the pre-diploma (pre-medicine/course). The duration of this course 7 to 10 months and will prepare you for futher studies at KSMU.
The subject to be studied in the pre-medicine English Medium:
1- Russian Language
B) Student of Advance Level (or any equivalents)
Applicants with A-Level education certificate may proceed to diploma (undergraduate program) in Medicine.
The program is designed to train qualified physicians oriented to the practice of medicine. Standardized patients are used to evaluate medical students and residents ability to take patient histories, communicate with patients, and determine diagnosis and treatment. The curriculum offers a six-year program leading to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
KSMU offers ample space in the hostel for all international students with comfortable living conditions and reasonable annual fees. Of the 6 (six) student hostel blocks, 3 (three) modern hostels are available for international students very close to the University (about 5 to 10 minutes walk). All hostels are supplied with hot and cold water and central heating system, each room contains beds, tables, chairs and storage space. AT there are 5 hostels in KSMU.

All hostels are located close to the University and are provided with central heating, cold and hot water and the necessary furniture. Good living conditions, location near the university and affordable rates make the hostel the best place to stay. At each hostel there are tutors working with foreign students.
There are 2 types of rooms available: 2 guard rooms (one room shared by 2 students) 3 hawker rooms (one room shared by 3 students) Of course the students are free to choose to stay in the hostel or outdoors. There are many apartments available in the Kursk region at reasonable prices. More than 20% of international students live outdoors.
Since the number of international students attending KSMU, we have special arrangements with other colleges where our international students can stay during their course duration. All our residential halls are maintained with the same standard of comfort and safety expected from the main residential space of KSMU students. Our homeowner is very close to the university (10-15 minutes walk).
