Medical University Of Lodz
The Medical University of Lodz is the largest public medical university in Poland. Its mission is focused on:
– educating students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing as well as in other medicine-related disciplines
– educating research staff (PhD programs)
– conducting research and scientific activity
– developing postgraduate programs offer.
Medical teaching in English was initiated in 2003/2004. Presently over 900 foreign students from various countries attend 6-year MD (Medicine), Advanced MD and 5-year DMD (Dentistry) programs and over 600 have already graduated. The programs are taught entirely in English and are comprehensive enough to be accepted internationally.
Medical University of Lodz is listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) which provides information about international medical schools that are recognized by the appropriate government agencies in the countries in which they are located.
In Poland it is the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Our University is also listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools with an ECFMG® Sponsor Note. For the graduation years indicated in the Sponsor Note, our students and graduates are eligible to apply to ECFMG for ECFMG Certification and USMLE® as a step towards ECFMG Certification.
Our medical and dentistry diplomas are also subject to automatic recognition in the European Union which Poland joined in May 2004.

The Development Strategy of the Medical University of Lodz will be realized in four strategic areas: education, research and development, collaboration in the development of the health care service, management and organizational development.
Dentistry program is designed for high school/secondary school graduates. Program is based on requirements which are obligatory for the Polish medical higher education institutions and is adequate to EU standards.
6-year MD program is designed for high school/secondary school graduates. It is a full time study program based on requirements which are obligatory for the Polish medical higher education institutions and is adequate to EU standards.
